Upgrading OS from other Vendor
I have a Blackberry 8310 of Telefónica (or movistar) Chile, and this have the OS v22.214.171.124, but searching here, in the page of Lastest OS for Blackberry the last OS for my Device is 126.96.36.199 but say Celcom Malaysia, Indosat, M1 and others, not Telefónica, so my question is:
¿Can I install this OS in my BB or not?
In the page of my provider the last OS available is 188.8.131.52
Yes, uninstall any OS you have currently on your PC, install the updated non-vendor version, after installing delete the vendor.xml located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader. Run desktop manager and it should tell you there are updates for your BB.
Exist any risk?? For example if I upgrade from a indian vendor my phone will ask for roaming?
No,it will not. The OS for the BB is the same. As long as you are downloading and installing the multi-language version your fine.
I CAN'T UPDATE
I'm in folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8310-v184.108.40.206_P220.127.116.11
And there i have this files:
THERE IS NO VENDOR.XML TO DELETE!
My Device Info is:
Device Type: BlackBerry 8310
Application Version: v18.104.22.168
Platform Version: 22.214.171.124
The Update File was downloaded from Vodafone Spain and my device is from Telefónica Movistar Chile
... of course I try to update it with the Application Loader and nothing happen...
