That's not all it does. In case y'all didn't notice, the zen theme is quite a bit different than the hidden version we've all unlocked. The differences are subtle, but I've begun noticing, and not really liking them.

I cant confirm the browser being any faster, but I can say that its missing the BB messenger alert when you have a messege waiting. Its only on the Zen theme tho. The other themes all work fine. Im going back to my 8707 OS tonight just for that reason. I use BB messenger a lot, and I need to know when someone is texting me.

I upgraded last night. No problems with messenger, though I have noticed that my bandwidth may have increased. I use pcpitstop.com to periodically check it. Also could be related to quicker browser.

Hey johnj41, ws there a code rewrite or just an update with little tweaks here and there? I'm curious on what sparked this update.

i was talking to a cingular rep a month or 2 ago when i was upgrading a 6710 and he we were talking about the current 4.1 and if it was avaialable for the 6710 and he mentioned something about 4.2 but currently cingular had no BB that would support it until the pearl hit there shelves and there for it wasn't be developed for cingular until after that. Now i can't swear to the accuracy of what he said but he did state that not even the 8700 have the memory capabilty to use it. And lastly he stated that he thought is being written for the upcoming BB that wasn't annouced yet but i assumed it was the 8800. I said to him doesn't the 8700 have like 64MB of memory and he said yeah but the from what he knew 4.2 took 63.2 mb of memory after install and that would be a scaled down version. Maybe he was just speculating but it sounded like it could make since.
