A little better browser, some video capabilities, give control of gps applications back to the service providers via servicebooks (bbmaps not on att version, and no way around it this time), lots of more details for security, voice recorder, and a few other minore things... maybe its just me - but I dont see what the big hype is over this OS.

    I agree.

There's not "really" anything new... A few tidbits here, a few tidbits there - but nothing really groundbreaking.

I'll upgrade, but only for the BlackBerry Unite compatibility (and the HTML e-mail, if it's actually supported for once)...

BlackBerry OS 5, now THAT'S what I'M waiting for!

Not in a big hurry for it, but I am looking forward to the video capabilities though.

there is a bunch of tiny little things you would notice if you took a detailed look at the OS...

I like it over 4.2 big time.

They don't loose viewer capabilities- you just have to wait for an official release so the creators can catch up. I sense some sour grapes, LOL

I didn't mean that they will lose email, just that BIS will not be getting html email and will not be able to use 3rd party apps like Empower or BBSmart viewer. Not sour, just not happy about that part of it.

The really great things are coming up when using BIS 2.5 (June 21) or BES 4.1.5 (today ?)
    - HTML E-Mail
    - Free/BuysTime Lookup
    - Remote Search
    - Native Attachment Download
    - ....

4.5 is NO REvolution "only" evolution.

If take rim that long to release a sub update for the blackberry, then big os update like os 5 will take them decades.

Its too bad about BB maps. Other 3rd part apps rely on BB maps for functionality. I'd happily pay for ATT Navigator (aka Telenav) because it is so great. Blip GPS, however, now is useless because it integrated with BB Maps.

Kinda lame. It'd be cool with me if, for ATT, they'd allow BB maps if you have Telenav.

You know what would be truly great, when the carriers finally release the official version of 4.5. That way berry users like me can participate in these convos- LOL

(yes Im having a big slice of sour grape pie- with low fat milk-lol)

yes html will work fine with the offical release of 4.5 like empower will work and i am sure bbsmart will to. you got to remember everyone is just playing with a unreleased version. this 4.5 version is ton better than 4.2
