If you think you have the wrong file look here to find your OS. Sorry I was a little confussed with your post. We will get you going. You will have to pick one from another carrier since t-mo doesnt have the 4.5 judging by the list I linked. But if you still want to upgrade it is possible.

You can reset your device to factory from your device if thats all you are wanting to do. Go to options/security options/general settings then click menu and select wipe handheld.

Before you wipe it use desktop manager to do a backup..BBM should be there and if not you can readd it thru Desktop manager. Is getting BBM back the only reason for the wipe or are you having issues with the device?

A security wipe will just remove data and (if you choose) any third party applications you installed on the device. Any standard apps should remain on the device.

You can either do the security wipe or reload the OS.

If you want to completely scrub the phone, go to the FAQ link in my signature and check out the link for using jl_cmndr. This strips everything from the phone, including the OS, which you can then do a clean install of after the wipe. Not so sure you need to take that drastic of a measure, however.

I'd go with the security wipe as your first resort.

Options>Security Options>General Settings>BB menu button>Wipe Handheld (I think that's the sequence!). It will then prompt you to remove 3rd party apps if you want to. This should leave all the native BB apps on your device.
