Do a hard reset. Shut down, remove the battery wait a few second... replace battery then see when happens when it starts.

If that dosn't work. Backup hand help and reinstall the OS. Instructs on doing that can be found here: www.pinstack.com/blackberryfaq

this is usually an address book error:

The Address Book is corrupt because either the device software or software application component has failed, or there is a corrupt data from wired or wireless synchronization.

Clear the Address Book database on the device.

    1. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
    2. Click Backup and Restore, and select Advanced.
    3. From the Handheld Databases list, select Address Book.
    4. Click Clear. Go back to the BlackBerry Desktop Manager window.
    5. Synchronize the Address Book with the correct translator in Intellisync.

The Hard reset from removing the battery should do it. Most exceptions I've seen are from a bad data connection and are corrected with a reset.
