Re: BlackBerry OS 4.0 Software Downloads

I just DL'd Version 4.0.2 for my BB 7290. I was attempting to have Cingular push the BB internet Browser to my device; but they said I needed the new OS. Like a good little customer I followed their advise.

Well the upgrade crashed in the middle and I lost just about everything. I performed a restore but it still took all day to track down all my 3rd party app reg Keys.

Pretty nice havingthis site to track down info like TCP settings and what not.

Long story short after "from Hell IT day" I have the BB browser.

gwgaston, that is a good idea. I will suggest that to the Site Improvements section.

Re: General and 4.1 Blackberry OS Guide *UPDATED*

    I could use some help.

I have a 7250 with Verizon as my service provider. I followed the instructions for the upgrade to 4.1 and experienced the following problems:

    1. I lost my corporate email onnection through the enterprise server
    2. I sometimes receive an error message that say "decryption failure, please regenerate key"
    3. Some time after I did the upgrade, I lost my browser icon on the home screen.
    4. Also around the same time as #3, I lost the icon oin the home screen that was for mail settings.
    5. On th DM, the button to allow the bluetooth connection is still greyed out, so I can't select it.

Any suggestions? If I need to go back to the 4.0 OS, how does one go about that?

    Thanks,
    Donovan

It seems like most of your trouble has to do with your settings. make sure the TCP settings are correct on the device. they can be found in the Advanced section of the Options menu.

I'm not sure if the 7250 has BT capability. If not, then that's why you're not getting the BT availability. but again, not sure on the 7250.

The decryption failure probably has to do with your security verification. A hard reboot (pulling the battery)should correct the problem.

BB Messenger gets new main screen icon

I just lost the new BB Messenger main screen icon without doing anything major (such as a wipe or OS upgrade). This is only on my 7105t, not my 7100t. I was changing themes and when I finished changing themes I noticed the newer icon was gone and the old one back. How do I get the newer icon back?

Re: General and 4.1 Blackberry OS Guide *UPDATED*

I need to find a link to upgrade from the following to the newest upgrade for a 7105t.

I currently have the following under the About screen on my 7105t:

    BackBerry 7100 Wireles Handheld v4.0.2.49 (Platform 1.8.0.142).

I downgraded thinking that would help with constant loss of contacts on BB Messenger (yes it happened again but I was able to re-add my contacts). Now I can't find the link to upgrade that and T-Mobile's My T-Mobile section is shut down temporarily for maintenance.

Can someone tell me where the link to re-upgrade that is? Thanks.

depending on what device you own you should be able to use the CW carrier install.
