There is no support for flash as of yet on any Blackberry, and I have not seen any 3rd party apps that do it either. With the recent anouncement of multimedia coming to the Blackberry, I think we'll be seeing it in the future, just not yet.

Re: Flash Player?

Bummer! But, thanks for confirming what I found. Now, I don't need to keep searching. When I talked with Blackberry to set up my 7290, they said they are getting more calls about FLASH. They didn't know of any player available either. Have a great day!

Re: Flash Player?

Maybe Flash will be supported in the short run once they get that 3g 8700 going!

Don't expect to see flash content on a blackberry anytime soon.
Flash requires use of a pointing device, eg. A mouse, so I won't count on seeing flash.

Re: Flash Player?

The 8800 is said to have pointer in browser so it can't be too far away

Re: Flash Player?

seriously, i visit a lot of pages that mostly use flash. i mean verizon has the flash lite on most of their phones already. Why do they get them and they aren't even smartphones.

I'm afraid you're dead wrong there. Flash Lite 1 - 2.2 was developed for use on mobile platforms, and does NOT require a pointing device. Instead, you can use keypress events--this applies not only to Adobes Flash Lite, but to ALL of Flash (i.e. non flash lite) content too.

The hardware is definitely up to par when it comes to rendering flash on a BlackBerry. I've got a 3 year old mobile phone that supports Flash 1.1, and it's far less powerful than anything RIM has put out. Thus, it stands to reason that Flash is not supported on the BlackBerry because RIM has decided, for whatever reason, not to do so.
