    Downgraded back to 4.2.1.154

So I downgraded back to 4.2.1.154 on the AT&T network tonight. I backed up my phone before hand. But once the downgrade was complete I noticed NONE of my address book was added. Tried to manually readd it from the backup file - however it is greyed out with 'Databases that are unavailable in the list have been configured for wireless syncro, or wireless backup and are read-only. You cannot restore or clear them.' Any way around this to readd them? And any clue why it did this to me to begin with?

So how are you trying to restore the data bases?

Are you going to your Desktop Manager>Backup/Restore>Advanced?

You should be able to see two screens...left side blank right side the current data bases on your device.

Then just load the backup in the left side and then just use the arrows to move the data base over to the device side.

let me know if that helps

Thats exactly what I am doing - resulting in the 'Databases that are unavailable in the list have been configured for wireless syncro, or wireless backup and are read-only. You cannot restore or clear them.' being greyed out, and cannot select them to restore.

Is it possible to import contacts via another type of file? I purchased the Amber Blackberry Converter program a while back. I could export the address book to another file form, and either A) manually reenter everything or B) reimport it to the blackberry if it will accept it. Any ideas?

Charlie next time be patient and wait for the At&t upgrade. Safest way to go.

Sometimes databases don't seem to agree with downgrades.

Sometimes they get corrupt but for the most part it should work. At least try another database.

Correct RedDog however it does matter how large of an OS change. If the schema changed at all you are SOL. However by using a selective recovery you can sometimes even bypass the most archaic error or issue

personally, i have had issues with downgrading on EVERY SINGLE 4.2>4.5>4.2 and the restoration of my backup files...

luckily, i backed up before the upgrade too, so i had a few backups to work with...

I have half a dozen backups to work with. However they are 500mi away at home.
I am trying to export my contacts to a CSV file, but when I import them to my phone - it shows it 'reading the entries' but then it tells me they were skipped and I am not sure why.
