removing and replacing didnt fix it... formatting only worked until i put data back on the card. an empty card doesnt cause the security check to fail... just a card with data. i removed the data, formatted, put data back (in the file structure created by the phone), and it still froze....

    goto c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\ and delete the vendor.xml file.

then, reopen desktop manager and plug in berry.

I looked in there Gary but all I saw was the BB messenger program. I didn't restore contacts because I thought those were my main contact list - all I lost were the BB contacts. Was I right? Probably not!

    JB,

    Double or nothin on lunch?

    Connect your device
    Start Desktop Manager
    Back Up Restore
    Advanced
    File
Open (Browse over to your latest back up and open it)
Select the Blackberry Messenger database and hit the -> Device arrow

I will bet this will restore your contacts (it did mine).

Naaa. I'll just owe you 2 lunches - I know you're right. It's too late now anyway cuz I've just about gotten confirmations from all the invites ... and it's a good excuse to elimintate the riff-raff.

BTW, don't you wish I had YOUR PIN? jk - I'd bug you to death.

Same here. Activation took for ever. Kept reseting, must have taken at leat 3 hours to complete, and then
It all seemed to work well until I tried to access pics in the SD card. Kept on reseting until I figured out I had to pull the card out.

Working well now, but without SD card. Will try formatting it on Monday, but I've been told it doesn't solve the problem.

I really love the upgrade, except for white balance issue when taking day pics.
Another issue is that voice dialling only works in English, despite I've loaded other languages for input. Not really fully multi-language.

    White Balance Glitch 8100

I've noticed a couple folks having camera white balance issues; I discovered a problem on my Pearl today with that. Is this something I have to live with until they patch it, or is there something I missed that can fix it?
