    Cant connect to computer

My 7100g unlocked cingular will not connect to my computer. I can charge through the usb. I get this message "A connection to the handheld could not be established. Please ensure that the handheld is properly connected to the cradle or USB cable, and that the cradle or USB cable is connected securely to your computer. Also ensure that the handheld has completed any startup operations. Then run the Application Loader Wizard again."

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~check the setings and make sure they are set to usb. If that isn't an option then chose autodetect.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~sorry to clarify you should use the device manager (not desktop manager) to check settings. After it detects the usb then check desktop manager and options tab.

    Re: Cant connect to computer

I had that once with my 7105t. It happened because I used the cable from my sony camera instead. It obviously made a difference. I just figured it was the same cord, hey it looked the same but when i used the cord that came with my BB it work. I would just say to use a specified cord. (incase you didn't).

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~also make sure to use the rear USB. It is a little different from the other uSB ports like on your keyboard on in the front of you PC.

    Re: Cant connect to computer

cbseven, Is this with a Laptop or a Desktop? Connect your BB to the PC, Open Desktop Manager. Use the Options/Connection Settings screen in Desktop Manager to set it to USB and then Click on the Detect Button. Let us know what results you get with this.

    Re: Cant connect to computer

Thanks for the help I am using a laptop and it was the front usb port. And it only works with the rear one for some reason.

    Re: Cant connect to computer

That's typical on some laptops and older PCs different capabilities on the front USB ports.
