I replied to your other post in the other thread

[Maybe Vodafone doesn't sell the 8320? They also don't have the 8120 update. Most carriers only update phones they sell. IDK, just a thought.]

Yeah, don't connect your phone to the pc, install the update on the pc and erase the vendor file. Then connect and enjoy. Takes ages to install but relax. Can take up to 1.5 hours.

I thought I remember reading that the new OS would be OTA? Am I mistaken?

They'd mentioned that future UPDATES would be OTA.

Since 4.2 doesn't support OTA updates, you'd be in a bit of a pickle trying to put 4.5 on OTA...

Correct -- to reiterate, it can sit at the hourglass for a seemingly endless amount of time. Leave it alone. Go watch a move, get dinner, something. It should be just fine in the end.

Is ANYONE EXPERIENCING ANY DIFFICULTIES with this OS SOFTWARE Release? Anything at all out of the ordinary?, anything annoying the life out of anyone?

I would prefer to wait till my carrier (at&t) releases their 4.5, but this is so enticing

    Thanks guys/gals

    Trouble with 18, 37,and 42

I have used all of the above on my 8310 but they all have the same problem: Every time I re-boot the device does not remember which icons were hidden and which order they were in. It is a nuisance to set it up each time. DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM???????

    Thanks.

You can ask bout any OS, everyone just assumes you're asking for a beta around these parts these days. But, as far as asking for a beta link specifically, no that not permissable on the stacks.

Yes, this is an official release from a carrier, hence the links being given, and the thread not being taken down.

What about unlocking themes? Or removing PTT? Will I need to do it again? Are the instructions compatible with the 4.5?
