    BB Messenger Problem/error??

Hoping someone here can help me (if anyone can its usually you guys!)

Ok, BBMessenger keeps throwing a wobbly in that I open it and I get a message saying that I've switched to a new device, so I need to update my pin with my contacts. If I don't click Yes to this, it deletes my Messenger contacts.

If I click Yes it moves my contacts into a category of 'awaiting pin update confirmation'.
Some contacts do receive a request to accept me as a friend again, others don't.

Once I've got everyone back, it works for a week or two, before doing it all over again.

I'm ready to murder my phone and my contacts are fed up too!

    Using BB8310 Curve.

    Have tried a battery pull.

    Have tried a hard reset.

Have tried updating device software from 4.5.0.55 to 4.5.0.124 and still getting the same...

Go to Options>Security Options>General Settings. Scroll down to Content Protection. Change Enabled to Disabled. Reboot.

    Thanks EricaJ

I've followed your instructions and will see if it stops this.

I won't necessarily know straight away as it can take a week or 2 to play up again!

After I upgraded to 4.5 from 4.3 that originally came on my phone, it used to happen to me every time I pulled the battery out of my phone or when Content Protection and the auto on/off feature were enabled. I finally caught on and disabled the Content Protection.
