    Another 8700 Issue

I have an 8700 and once the battery is placed in it - the LED blinks red twice. I am unable to turn it on. Unable to wipe it using javaloader, unable to re install os.

    Any suggestions?

Tried that already. Javaloader cant even wipe it, when i select the wipe option then enter blackberry it blinks and returns to the main menu.

In app loader the PIN comes up as unknown and it fails to Erase applications I think, the first process it does. Gives me an error about unable to communicate with the device. This happens when it reaches about 65%.

Here's the next step Mitchie: http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com..._step_fix.html. Have you done a recent backup? If you follow the steps exactly, it should work.

Actually thats where I am stuck, The phone cant boot or load, it just blinks the LED twice. I dont get the 507 error. The main issue is I am not getting any JVM error. If I did then I would be happy.

I am now convinced the device is dead, I guess I will just use this one as a paper weight or summen.

Mitchie, how many times have you tried the steps? My first time, it took a couple of (frustrating) attempts.

BTW, how old is your BB? Any chance they'll exchange it for you?

    Re: Another 8700 Issue

I work for the mobile company, I have a ton of them - I just decided to check them, so far I have fixed about 6-7. This one just giving me a warm time. I guess I will just have to send this back to RIM.
