    .64 phone.alx on 1.94

real quick. phone service with my tmo 8100 running .64 was great. now that i have upgraded to the newest rogers, i drop calls like its hot (im sure everyone has read about this).

is it possible to take the phone.alx from .64 and replace it with the one on 1.94? i would really hate to get rid of it since i love the new features, but its embarrasing to keep dropping calls when on important calls.

anyone try this before? better yet, anyone want to try it and let me know

    thanks

So can we just move the older Phone.alx to the new OS location? Will it replace it then or would we have to actually try to install it? I just tried to move it over, but I don't think it does anything.

you would probably need all the phone files (and not sure if there are other "backstage" files that are needed like dependencies that might not have the word phone in it), but just copy those into the java folder for the OS you have installed, restart DM, and it should say "downgrade".

just be ready to revert back to the original files if it does not work properly (so don't overwrite the files, but move the originals to a safe place, then copy your desired files over).

I don't have any issues with the phone (thankfully) but I do have issues with BBM - it has (twice now) mixed two contacts together... even though they (obviously) have different PIN's. That's my only hate for this version.

Let us know how you make out with that project though

Just to update this thread it failed horribly. i am actually going back to .66 TIM. It least it Clicks when the call is jacked up. 1.94 is just dead airing and you can't tell the call is failing.

well im going to wait patiently, try and keep the thread going. maybe someone with more knowledge and who has done something among these lines will chime in. with how my luck has been lately, the last thing i need to do is mess around with the operating system
