I'm currently have OS 4.5.0.37. Have had no probs so far except lately been having a prob w/ adding ppl to bb msg and them adding me. I've tried doing the PINs and emails and still nothing. If anyone could help me fix this issue I'd greatly appreciate it. Also was thinking of upgrading to .52....any good? anyone?

I've found .52 to be the best so far - better with memory management, more stable, less bugs...

There is an official release for .52 that I've seen, but would guess that the .52 I'm using is the same...any other thoughts?

Thanks! On another note, I'm now using LiveSearch with .52 and have had no problems with that program.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~any tmo users having problems with random restarts when the media card is in. I'm using .52 from orange and have reformated my media card using the .52 and have noticed that my bb has random restarts when it is in. Thought it might be a problem with the 4 gig card so I tried my 1 gig card (after reformatting it using .52) and have the same issues. When I take the card out no issues. (8320)

I still have the beta .52 / rel75 in my 8300: I have an 8GB card in mine, and it works fine - no random reboots and no other problems except these:
    - a very slow memory leak (lose a few MB over a few days)
    - an occasional media player blowup when attempting to stream Youtube over a slow connection

Other than that, .52 rel75 has been grand on my 8300.

I'm using a 2gb card, with no problems. Don't know about memory leak...no sure where to look for that.

    Options>Status

This is where you'll find the total device memory (although since the upgrade to 4.5 it doesn't show total anymore) and the amount of free file space left. Need to keep tabs on that. I don't use any third party apps or anything and mine hovers around 26mb after deleting the Help and TTY apps.

you can hold the alt key and the left caps key and hit h, and it will show the total memory and how much free memory you have left

I just deleted "Help"...have about 19.8mb of free space left now. Don't think I'll be installing anything else and I guess I could uninstall "BBmaps"...I use "Google Maps" and "Live Search".

    Hey Steve,

Video capturing is available with the 4.5 OS, but only for the newer Curve devices.

Also, I do not believe there is any such release available for your 8700.
