you *should* be able to run OS 5.0 ... as long as you have patience and hardly any 3rd party apps from what I've read, all 81xx/83xx models who have been using 5.0 beta report major memory leaks, unresponsive with hourglass running quite a bit.

I had 5.0 on my 8330 and had very few issues....No memory leaks most apps ran fine in compatibility mood and it never once became unresponsive. The only issue I had at all was with media/ring-tones causing an error.

the 5.0 release is only going to support the 8330 and up so no pearls no 8700 and not the 8300 8310 or 8320. this is because of the on device memory limitations

wouldn't the 8300, 8310 and 8320 have the same memory capacity as the 8330?

My 8320 works perfectly well with the new 5.0 bb messenger. No memory leak either.

The discussion here is in regard to the 5.0 Operating System, not BBM 5.0.

Is there a way to bump up the memory capabilities in the Pearl 8120 so you could use the new 5.0 OS???????? The 5.0 OS on the pearl would be fantastic with a memory increase. Must be a way.

Unfortunately vinny, no, there is no way to bump up the memory. The only way would be to remove as many applications as you can from device memory.

I'd like to know the same as jessie I have an 8330 on sprint 4.5.0.175 I really want the 5.0, I tried and uninstalled the 5.0.0.230 leak and hated it, too many glitches

I have yet to find the 5.0 device software for the Bold. Yet another letdown. One day RIM will step it up. On the other hand, 5.0 is great on my girlfriend's Storm.
