Oh forgot to say that I'm actually using it right now! =)

Re: 8700 As Modem (TMobile Users)

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~okei so today I hooked up my berry on my backup pc but for some reason I got this message: error 732: your computer and the remote computer could not agree on PPP control protocols.
I tried taking the battery out of my berry, deleting and seting up my connection on the pc all over again but nothing seems to be working!!!!
PS: I've been using my berry as a modem for weeks now, I have no clue why it stopped working TODAY when I needed it the most :-(
Any help would be appreciated!! Thank you in advance.

Re: 8700 As Modem (TMobile Users)

I just loaded the Device Manager update from T-Mobile for my 8700g and my modem connection no longer functions. My RIM modems are no longer available for me to setup. There is only the modem that came with my laptap. Anyone have any ideas. I used this feature quite alot in the past and I just seem to figure it out. Thanks

Have a Dell laptop and I travel a lot... you saved me $175 on that aircard! And this probably has better speed!! Lol....

Thanks for posting this!!!

Works like a charm!

I do not have EDGE at my house but it'll do in the event of an outage.

Re: 8700 As Modem (TMobile Users)

I got a new Tmo 8700 and just tried this out. Worked first time! In fact I'm writing this via the connection now. Only getting about 62Kbps according to DSLREPORTS.COM but hey at least it's a connection when all else fails. (Though my wife might not like that I have another way to connect to the office.) Thank you very much N8DBB!

Re: 8700 As Modem (TMobile Users)

any thoughts on while i get such terrible speed when connecting? it says im connecting at a max of 155.2 kb but when running speed test i get 5 kb...yes, only 5. its like watch paint dry. i dont think its an ie issue. i get the same results in firefox or using a dos prompt going to an ftp server
