After buying my bb 7130e from Sprint (and admittedly a little ignorant about the bb functionality), I spent about an hour arguing with Sprint that resulted in getting 500 SMS each month for free. I wasn't aware of the PIN messaging capabilities and their website (sprint.com/blackberry > Products and Services > Wireless Data > Details tab) states the wireless data plan features include: Integrated SMS — Quickly exchange short text messages with other SMS-enabled devices. Send messages to your office or dispatch for technicians. Once I finally got a supervisor on the line, they agreed to give me the SMS for free for the terms of my contract. I'm not sure if they really meant to state PIN messages are included, but their site doesn't say that nor does it say additional fees will apply for SMS and I truly believe they are advertising SMS as included in their data plans and should either correct their site or honor their advertising.

Thanks for the heads up!!! I just called an hour ago and got my unlimited SMS for 5 bucks! Hell yeah! I had to find the "right person" also and had to keep giving them the code over and over again till they finally found it in the system.

Now only if I could get unlimited bb data/internet for 5 bucks...heck even 10! Anyone got a code for that...haha.

Just to clarify that is a CDMA code, will not work on a Nextel BB. The closet you can get with Nextel is $7.50/month for unlimited.

I just called 2/8/07 and I got unlimited for $5 (I also was paying $15). $40 is a hefty amount to pay and on top of that $15 for unlimited text messages. It didn't take long for BB customer service to chg the plan for me...

I called 4 times and each rep said a $5 plan does not exist. I even called the local store that normally hooks me up with deals and they don't know about this either. Grrr! I'm screwed until I finally get someone on the phone that will hook me up.

They don't advertise the sms plan and most sales reps don't know about it because its not advertised. The code that sprint uses in their system is. #c2wsmsunl 4bb if you give them this reference they will see the offer. It is only available for consumer plans not corporate.
