Just left verizon with new battery...

I have had my Storm2 for about three weeks now and it has been great. Since about a week and a half ago, my battery has been draining really bad. So I thought of the usual, maybe it was an app that was draining it. So I started deleting the apps one by one, with no luck. This was over a period of a few days. Well the other day I was fed up with it, so I completely wiped my phone and reinstalled the official OS on it. I ran it for a little while with no third party apps on it and it was still draining pretty badly. I went ahead and installed QuickLaunch, and that was the only third party app that I had installed on it. Today I went from 85% to 15% in about 3 hours. The only thing I did was sent a few bbm and checked a few emails, no phone calls or web or anything with in this time. Also no WIFI. So I decided to go to the VZW store. This place is always packed, you can go ahead and plan to wait 45 minutes to an hour for service. So while I was waiting I decided to look at all the BB devices on display. All the BB models and Android devices (DROID & Eris) that they had on display were broken except the new 8530 curve. I don't know about other verizon stores around the country but just about every time I go in there the phones are broke. Do people just go and break the phones on purpose or something. Well the good news is I got a new battery and I am going to test it out over the weekend. The only apps I have installed is Visual Voice Mail and QuickLaunch. I hope this is the only problem...

Oh and this is my 800th post, yay to me

The answer to your question is yes. My brother in law breaks his then will BS the Rep and usually get what he wants. I can't make myself do it. Hope the battery does the trick. I am back on mine and up time is great for me. Congrats on 800.

Edit: Oh you meant the display ones...lol. OOPS. That answer is no for me the displays are always working in our store.

UPDATE:

Well the good news is I think it was a bad battery, I have been getting the normal blackberry drain that I am use to now, no 70% drain in 3 hours.

I tried the Storm II for a week and had a problem that would lead to battery drain. It was very hard to discern but twice, on two different days, the phone emitted a very quiet static hiss for no apparent reason. Even after a full power off, when it powered back up, still the hiss. Only a battery pull would make it stop. It was very hard to hear. You had to be in a really quiet environment and hold speaker at the bottom of the phone up to your ear. Something to be on the lookout for other users of the Storm II. Myself, I took it back to the store and got an 8530. Good luck.
