is this a verizon slogan??

a verizon employee told me (and this may be some type of slogan of theirs)

"what is the point of having the coolest new phone if you can't get service on it or use it!"

and its very true, i did a two week trial with tmo because i wanted the pearl and despite it being a cool phone, the service with tmo sucks! more and more people at work and friends of mine are breaking their tmo contracts bc they can't get service anywhere!

verizon is by far the best

No offense, I'm sure that TMO does suck whereever you're from, but service is based on regions, customer service is based on the company, and for that I love TMO. When i was in SoCal, TMO sucked, living where I do now, it's the best. In Las Vegas, I was getting service inside of Casinos, it was great. Verizon gets you bang up service, where you get it- but if you dont you dont, and it's not like roaming is a great option due to Technology diffs between GSM and CD/TDMA...just an opinion

oh absolutely, i completely agree that it changes region by region - i'm sure there a plenty of places where verizon is terrible and tmo is great - and i also agree that tmo customer service and price of plans are better than verizon hands down

i live in birmingham, alabama and we are in a very hilly town with lots of wooded areas around and verizon is the only thing that is consistent around here

well here is my 2 cents - service is service - if you get it - you get it and you dont you dont - no company has 100% coverage all time time - what i tell people is get what works for you for the price your willing to pay and what your happen with. Other than that shut up and dont complain.

Don'T forget about one thing, even if a company said they want to have the better and customer service or the better coverage, never forget that a company is there to make money and if there is no money you'll never have any service. What I am trying to say is even if you prefer Tmo or Verizon, Telus or Rogers, never forget those company wanna let you know that they work for you but their far prefer you money

Fwiw. I have tmo for my 7105 and a Verizon work phone. I travel to al some and the tmo coverage is spotty if you are not on the biggest feeways. The advantage to Verizon is that being CDMA and analog it can jump to whatever tower has the best signal. I have found that even if I have 1 or 2 bars of signal with v I may or may not get a call through or get dropped. If the BB has 1 bar of signal everything works. I also seem to loose signal sooner in buildings with the cell. Btw, the tmo BB has successfully used Cingular service with no extra charges. Anybody else with tmo experienced this?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ it's always good to know that most carriers have escape clauses if you move into an area they don't have coverage. It saves a lot of problems. The only thing that's a given for me is that whatever carrier I have, I will from now on always have a blackberry no matter what.

Except during severe weather. When Katrina hit LA and MS, there was more than one MD in that area who ditched his VZW/Sprint phone for a GSM carrier, because only the GSM towers were still operational.

Birmingham does have great VZW coverage all around the perimeter and throughout the city from what I've seen. A RAZR on VZW is my secondary phone, while my 8700 serves me otherwise. The 8700 has never had any issues with coverage in Birmingham either though.

clause!! lol.... i relocated to (here) and nextel told me there was coverage here, well when i got here i discovered it didnt. i got maybe 30% . still had to pay to leave

verizon is the only carrier that works here in the tennessee valley like 325inewbie in b-ham said
