Thanks guys, at work and just checking every now and again but I do appreciate your input on the subject and will definitely think up the worst scenarios before leaving the office as I have no internet at home for the moment. The process takes place tonight. I'm so excited!!!
I have the DM 4.6 installed but used it with the BB pearl I am upgrading from. there is also a vendor.xml file inside the included folders. Do I have to uninstall anything that has to do with the pearl? I have safely backed it up in case but I just hope one will have nothing to do with the other. How do I uninstall the pearl or do I have to before installing the storm? Sorry but I just have to be on the safe side. Its for AT&T
No problem. Don't forget if the official os is from a carrier other than yours, delete vendor.xml. With no internet at home you SHOULD install DM 4.6 for sure. Woudnt wanna be one of the unlucky ones with 4.7 that's having problems.
Just in case.... Hey ranx. Give me my phone back!... Geez. That Ranx is such a prankster, snatching my phone and typing crazy posts and stuff.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
I am back. I went home yesterday and tried installing the bell OS .76 downloaded from the bb website. I tried to run it but it would just stop saying unexpected interruption. But when I did the verizon OS, it went all the way. I wouldn't say that was an upgrade as it is the same OS that the phone had to begin with. Secondly, I could not find the shared folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion (installing from XP by the way) and socouldn't fint the net_rim_bb etc file mentioned in the upgrade.
As a result, I have no browser. What did I do wrong? And will .76 the OS from Telus work? I di delete the vendor.xml file. If I did try to install a third party browser, say opera mini, will it work?
