There are always slight improvements with each OS release, but I always say if you are running stable on your current
    OS - stick with it.
I'm happy with the AT&T .231 and not planning to upgrade at this time, mostly for lack of time

hmm that sounds like good advice...thank you for the really fast responses. Ive never been overly impressed with my battery life on this 8900...so today i was thinking it was either the holster or the OS. I ordered the Seidio Innocase today. Been trying to figure out the answer to the question you just replied about. Just want good long life bc im not an excessive user, but im on the road a lot and charging is a pain for me. Thank you again

and anyone else please give your opinion too

I've never had battery issues with .231 on the 8900. You might want to try the Seidio extended battery Here.

Agree with Lavagirl on .231. I ran it for a few months and had 0 issues with the battery life and I am on it quite a bit browsing, emailing, and streaming music. I personally didn't notice a difference going from .231 to .250 on my device, so I went back to .231, but I'm actually running a hybrid at the moment and it has a little of both, plus .282 and 5.0 mixed in there and it works great.

okay, so i'm just going around the web looking for bb news and i c that there is an official and new 4.6.1.298 OS for the 8900 @ this link: http://blackberryrocks.com/2009/10/0...ta-docomo-gsm/. i'm not able to download this OS and try it out yet but just wanted to know if there were some fellow BB users that have tried this yet? I'm curious about the pros and cons of this OS.

seems the same, battery life SEEMS better under moderate to heavy usage (so far w/ calls, txt, FB, viigo and media) browser is quick both on wifi and on edge. probably a bit more snappier moving around apps and scrolling through the menu. So far thats all i noticed... a better improvemtn from .250 for sure tho

.298 seems the same to me, as they all do unless features are added.

I upgraded to .250 and have had no problems. I haven't really seen much change in battery consumption from .231 to .250 but I also have not had the Curve very long. Still working on getting it configured the way I want.

Hmm... IS there any difference between .250 from Rogers and .250 from TIM_Italy?
I'll have to upgrade some 8900 Curve BB's very soon...
