I downloaded .656 a couple days ago and installed. I had been running .593 for a few weeks.....on this new one(.656) my battery life is night and day difference. After a busy day of 3G/EDGE data use I have 65% battery left at the end of the day, on .593 I only had like 25% in the same time period left. I also noticed the reboot time was way faster on .656 I'm happy with this one for sure......Still I wish 6.0 would release.....even a leak would be fine lol

I downloaded and installed .656 last night. So far, so good...no problems. Agree with bmay82; faster reboot times with this one.

Battery life is better with .656. I didn't really think .586 was that bad but this new one is better.

Also downloaded it and installed yesterday - .656 rocks! No more problems with my calls being garbled near my router. Happy girl, so far!

Good news that this problem got solved, but I'm curious as to what caused it in the first place . . .

If I knew, I'd share it! All I can tell you is that I upgraded from .421 to .593, then had all my UMA calls garbled when near the router. Down the hallway on UMA, no problem.

I with you on this...battery life is so much better using .656. I was using TMO .330, so you can imagine how much of an improvement I am experiencing. No other problems to note. .656 has made my 9700 a faster and more fluid phone.

Installed .656 yesterday and it seems pretty good. Only 2 minor things that I have noticed on my phone. The first is that my new messege indicator on my emails doesn't disappear after I have read the email. The second is that when I exit an sms it shows the home screen really quick before it goes to the screen with all the people I have text. Those are the only 2 problems I am having, other than that it runs good.

I wonder if it will be a downgrade from .656? I would hope they would get the latest.

I'm not experiencing those issues. Would a 9700 on TMO respond differently compared to a 9700 on the AT&T network?

No. They are both GSM in North America and share towers. With identical OS's, I would expect an AT&T 9700 and a Tmo 9700 to respond identically

What does everyone think of the T-Mobile OS update? I ran out of time this morning fooling with it. For some odd reason nowadays my Blackberry does not want to connect to my Desktop Manager for me to effectively back up my device.

You might need to do a fresh install of Desktop Manager.

Uninstall it from your PC (use the clean uninstall instructions in the Technical Support Blog link in my signature), reboot your machine, then reinstall the latest version of DM. You'll also find a link to that in my blog.

As for the .586 update, a lot of us are running the official .656 version that came out of TuckCell in the past week or so. If you're comfortable with another OS other than that of your carrier, you might want to give that a try.
