I upgraded to 6.0.0.418 and all is well, the earlier leaks I had no problem with the social feeds, they have worked fine for me. I'm with tmo and I agree I don't get too excited until most the other carriers have it already. With the 9780 being official there isn't any hurry for them to upgrade the OS for the 9700. I'm sure they are hoping you get the 9780 instead. JMO

Will there be an OS thread for the 9780? I have links to 2 OS upgrades for it. One official and one leaked.

    worth the upgrade

I am on Tmo and running 5.0.0.714 which has served me right thus far. What are the major differences between my current OS and 6.0.0.1478? I forgot, where are the instructions to upgrade the OS?

I was happy with tmo's os but couldn't resist the 6.0 even in beta stage. I like the scrolling options, the different lists it creates, works very smooth with the touchpad. I think the browser is way better no comparison in my opinion. You have to understand that once you update, the stock theme is all you have, but you can change the wallpaper. You have the options of setting the homescreen to no icons, one row, two rows, it's kinda cool the way they have is set up.

If you haven't already I would suggest going to blackberry.com and watching the os6 video they have, to get a better understanding of what you will see

I am in the process of installing it right now, however I do not know if there is a vendor code that I need to delete like in previous updates!

Everything seems to be working ok not excellent because in certain instances the trackpad does not want to navigate to certain screen areas in programs that are not blackberry/rim branded such as iSkoot.
    Any suggestions?

As you are now refering to an official release, it would not be unreasonable to contact iSkoot and ask them when they are bringing out an update compatible with OS6

OS upgrades are phone dependent NOT carrier dependent
