I'm having major issues with AT&T's .602. Very low performance and a lot of wait time switching between programs. Going back to .743, much better build.

I'm running .602 (for about a week now) and its been flawless. The only changes I could see were to the browsers...no more "Blackberry" browser...just goes straight to ATT.

    Battery life is incredible!

No more BlackBerry browser? That's not right. Should be both.

There are two browsers, just doesn't take you to the Blackberry Webpage any longer...

I have had some issues with the at&t .602 as well. I have had to pull my battery a few times and such. A lot of lag between apps. I downloaded it via the blackberry rather then the desktop. Maybe that could be the issue. If I feel that the build does not work right, what is the highest recommended build you all have tried? I have seen .743 a lot. I would really like to stick with at&t's official OS' if possible.

.743 is official from a couple of carriers. Should be listed at the top of this thread.

If it were me (and I was staying with ATT), I'd simply drop back to .420 (?, whatever the last release was).

But I think I would try to reinstall it...I have had no issues, but it doesn't seem a whole lot different than .420 except for the mention browser and battery life.

There was an official release of .743 from Rogers which I just added to the list.

I've used 743 for some time now. It works well, no issues, but the advantages over the other fives really don't make it worth the upgrade effort. Maybe a tiny bit faster, but look/feel it's virtually identical.

The biggest benefit from a lower version has been the battery life. Wow! I've been using .743 since the day it came out, and my phone has performed like a dream. No issues.

    .743

I agreed, the .743 version is very stable and battery life if very good. i can now have wifi and bluetooth on all the time VS the older version from the ATT that about 2/3 battery life.

when i got my 9700, i noticed that the alarm clock keyboard short-cut no longer works (when you set phone options to not dial from homescreen)
but when i installed .743, the keyboard short-cuts for the alarm clock and keyboard lock no longer work. and my bb wont lock upon holstering even if i set it to lock when holstered. only way to lock/unlock the keyboard is to press the button at the top.
    all other short-cuts still work.
