I’m currently running an unofficial version of V5.0.0.593 . I’m about to downgrade to the new official T-Mobile OS 5.0.0.586.

Let’s see how it runs. One thing though, that the one I’m currently running (.593) I've never had any issues whatsoever.

    Then why bother downgrading?

Ditto on Roger's comment - The differences between 593 and 586 are so insignificant that, if you're happy with 593, the effort is not worth it.

I did my research. It's not worth downgrading (Just to have an official OS). Let's head toward OS 6.0.. which in turn I'm going to update to the v5.0.0.656. They say it has improved battery life. If anything I can always downgrade back to .593. I'm working on it right now.

Now you're talkin'! If anything, upgrade and go with the official .656 release from TurkCell.

Just jumped from v5.0.0.330 to v5.0.0.656. Nice to have the new features. I hope they fixed the weird SMS 'feature' where if you press alt then delete, the entire message gets deleted. I notice there is now an option to not have enter be the send key for SMS, so perhaps what the accidental deletion has been fixed? I seemed to have lost some messages in my Saved Messages folder, however. I backed up correctly & restored correctly so I wonder what's going on.

.656 has performed very well for me so far. I am not downgrading to the TMO upgrade. I didn't notice the SMS feature. Good find!

I've been running .656 for a few weeks now. It seems really snappy and battery life it great. This seems to be a good build.

I had the "out-of-the-box" 5.0.0.330 that came with my 9700. I received an e-mail message from T-Mobile regarding the available upgrade to .586
I performed the upgrade and noticed a few minor changes. For example, the option to "clear" a chat thread is gone. But the biggest change I have noticed is that my 9700 will FREEZE up on me......it never used to do that before and the only thing that has changed is the OS. Go figure.

Maybe try upgrading to the .656 version we've been talking about, officially release by Tuckcell. You can get it here.

Ditto. The 586 that's coming from T-Mobile seems very buggy, a lot of people seem to be having issues. The Cosmote 586 (available on the first post of this thread) was bulletproof, as is 656.

Well, there's an official release of .680 from Hutchison. No beta for this version for whatever reason.

    Get it here.

I upgraded my 9700 to the .586 release from T-Mobile. Now when I'm reading messages the Next function doesn't work, either from the menu or by pressing the N. Now I really miss that. P for prior message still works.
