Thumbs up How to Boot a BlackBerry in Safe Mode

I didn't know this has never been posted before. This is HOW-TO get into safe mode on a newer BB.

Many a BB user/abuser has done something to goof up their BB @ least once. Here is a simple way to fix things that should work on all BB with OS 5.0 or newer.

    1) Take a BB with an issue, & pull the Battery

    2) Hold down the Back arrow key(in between the trackpad/ball and Red phone/end key) as you re-insert the battery and continue to hold it for the duration of the boot.

    3) When prompted to do so, release the key and you're into safe mode where you can delete a faulty program or theme that is causing you issues.

    4) Restart and you're back in business

    Hope this helps. . .

yeah I learned it from a friend a while back, always figured someone else had posted it, but when i suggested it the other day and one of the more experienced users was unaware, I decided it warranted a new thread

If you run into trouble with a downloaded app or theme locking up your device or something, booting up in safe mode loads the bare minimum onto your device to be operable. This way you can delete the offending app or whatever is causing the issue on your device

So do you mean deleting the app from the app list and then doing a battery pull is not enough to delete the offense?

Yes, that is enough. However sometimes a new app or theme when installed will brick your phone and so you would be unable to delete it. Rebooting the device in safe mode will allow you to navigate the menus to do the deletion. With so many applications and themes available from so many sources, some legit and some not, this is a great addition to the BB OS.

So this would work instead of doing a full wipe from the pc?
