Have you done a complete wipe and restore of the OS? That would be the next step.

Not if you do a complete backup before you do the wipe and restore. Do that with Desktop Manager, then do the following:

Download an app to your PC called BBSAK (BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife). You will use this to wipe the OS from your device. You can get it here: www.bbsak.org

Download the most current OS for your device.

Connect your device to your PC and launch BBSAK. It will ask you for a password. If you don't have one set for your device, just click OK.

Choose the option to Wipe Device. When completed, you will be left with a white screen and an app error 507, which means the wipe was successful.

    Disconnect your device.

On your PC, navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader. Delete the file at the bottom called vendor.xml.

    Connect your device.

In that same folder as above, there's an executable file called Loader (has a little phone next to it). Double click on that and it will start loading your OS.

Once the OS has been reloaded, you can connect to Desktop Manager again and do a restore of your contacts, etc.

You should also be able to back up your BBM contacts within BBM itself. There should be an option when you press the menu button within BBM. Then you can restore them that way, if you like. I'd do both the Desktop Manager backup and the BBM contacts backup just to play it safe.

Here are the instructions for restoring data, but they're similar to backing data up as you'd choose backup instead of restore using the instructions:

Here's the latest OS for your device, so you don't have to go looking for it. Download it and install it onto your PC.

Use the instructions in post #4 once you've downloaded the OS.
