Keep in mind that wifi will extend the life. As will rooting, since some rom developers will take the stock image and tweak, and CM10 is pretty efficient. Been using a modified CM10 on my nexus and with a good kernel it's pretty good. I downloaded a rom update (143mb) while sitting here on wifi and it only ate 2%. Installing chewed up a bit more, but I'm content.

Where ya been, B? Yeah, I'm a founding member of a new mobile company called Solavei. 49/month unlimited voice, text and data. No contracts, no credit checks, and you get paid to spread the love!

No iPhone available yet on the network (should be some time in Q4), so I'm getting the HTC (for now).

I might as well answer Rog here too. For the sake of others...
Go to Google Play and look for the following:
    My Tracks, My Places.
These two combined with Google Maps and Navigation will follow you, record, backup all you favorite places, keep track of you even when you go to the WC. They don't want your time wasted at all.
You can zap in and out of them to your hearts content using the real multitasking function of your new HTC uploading, sharing etc.
    Welcome to Droid. Tsk....

Roger, sorry I've been worthless for ya.
I don't use the GPS features often.

Just trying to get it tweaked the way I'm used to.

Can anybody recommend a notifications app that works like the iPhone where a preview pops in the lock screen?

Or is it already there and I'm just not finding it?

Not that I can remember Rog. I know Chomp SMS has that and you can work directly from the pop-up. I'm sure something similar for e mail is also available. Just have to look for it.
Sense 4 has lock screen icons that give you access directly for at least 4 apps. Now these apps are the ones you choose to place at the bottom of homepage. By dragging the app into the ring it opens immediately.
but heck you should be able to pull down the notification screen even on the lock screen. I'm getting all mixed up with the roms and roots...
    Jay just do your thing!
