    Unlocked phone with any carrier/plan?

I'd like to have the Samsung Galaxy S3 as my first smartphone, and with the T-Mobile/Walmart $30/month pre-paid, no-contract plan. But that phone is only available with their contract plans.

Could I simply buy an unlocked S3 from elsewhere, and then sign-up for that $30 pre-paid plan?

    Sorry for the 'noob' question...

Hm. Good question. I don't see why not, but I'm not familiar with how the prepaid plans work, so I'm not sure.

Your best bet is to call T-Mobile and ask them.

If you get an unlocked international then yes. I'm not sure of the current status of unlocking T-Mobile S3. As long as the radios are compatible then no issues. I'd be sure to check, I know some devices don't obtain full speeds on some networks.

Lots of good info on just what you're talking about doing. Good luck, and let us know how it goes if you try it.
