IDK, I never used SMU/DMU, I always just go to sprecovery and change ROMs as a nandroid backup or update.zip depending on the requirements for that ROM and what I'm currently using...

Has anybody rooted their mt3g with the 3.5mm plug? Cyanogen says on their wiki that they don't support it yet.

Currently not rooted on the Droid, but I did jailbreak NY iPhone once, but felt it was very laggy. So its back on OEM OS 3.1.3. Never had an issue.
What's the benefits of rooting the Droid phones?

This is my second day with my rooted g1. So far I have changed the font, got a radio upgrade, and its runnig good. Its not blazing fast but with all the features I'm not complaining. Havnt had time to look into other stuff ( midterms ) but I will when I get the chance. I'm still looking for a fast and stable rom, I'm using the latest cyanogen stable rom now but allways looking or something better. Android rocks!!!!

okay so i've had my mt3g rooted for about a week now and i love it. im running the super d ROM. its amazing the speeds im getting on my phone now. its so fast. i also upgraded my radio to 2.22.23. now i have wayyyyyyyyyy better reception then i did before. i live in an area that tmobile doesn't catch very well FML so this upgrade definitely came in handy. if anyone needs any help feel free to ask me. i've gone through 4 or 5 different rom changes. its on like donkey kong!

I keep changing ROMs and themes too.....right now though my Moto DROID is very stable on Pete's Bugless Beast v0.9. Everything is working well, no weird bugs.....just fast, stable, and loaded with extra goodies. I waited for a while to root, didn't think I really needed to, but now I am so glad I did! Love having the ability to customize the look even more and to remove things I don't want.
