There's no substitute for BBM, but as far as location based search like Poynt, "Where" is the best I ever seen. Free in the market.

My 2 cents... If you want a fun phone and something new go for Android.
If you're searching for a serious communication device, get a 9700.

I agree with Del on this, except I will add to it. The 9700 is also the best multimedia device BlackBerry has produced to date. Probably not as much multimedia as an Android, but if you use it for business purposes it cant be beat.

You're not too late there fasha for an exchange. I dunno if you saw the latest version or next upgrade to the current bb browser. I'd suggest you exchange your phone for an iPhone and get some money out of it once you sell the iPhone for the next bb granted with this tweak. C'mon join ze' dark side. You'll love a huge screen and freedom and of course lots of freebies which I would help you get

@ raton.........the iPhone is no longer considered a "huge screen", we can leave that to the HD2 and the xperia x10 when it drops in April! But I guess it is huge compared to the BB !!

I went from an 8900 to a Nexus One. There is no way I could go back. The Nexus One seems years ahead of the 8900.

Gave up BB for iPhone and was happy for a while, but the hype wore off. Gave up iPhone for G1 and I was ecstatic! Now gave up G1 for a Moto Droid and I don't see myself going away from Android anytime soon. Gotta love multitasking and open source! Android is a VERY flexible platform.
