The widget just monitors right? It doesn't override the build? Also, is the mytouch rooting as simple as the g1? No extra steps?

update: rooted my sister's mytouch with Cyanogen 4.0.2. running great and she's loving it. she's bummed about losing the factory wallpapers though. is there any place i can get those things back?

The overclock widget can override- I know for sure on the screen off settings.

For the wallpapers, not sure. Maybe check some themes for 4.0.2 and they usually have wallpapers included with them. I like the Oreo theme but not sure if he has a 4.0.2 version yet.

I would love to try this out. I use to mix and mash OS's when I had my storm. Is the process similiar to this?

I used to do the 8320 OS changes, tweaks, and upgrades. This is taking it another level where you have access to the OS directly. There's many more options and apps available to highly customize your Android. Just like Apple, there's an app for that, and 90% of them are free.

And its a lot less painful! No sitting at the computer for 45 min to an hour hoping it comes out right.
Except for the initial rooting, you wont need your pc again. You can DL and install ROMs and Themes all on the phone.
