Why would I not be able to select a ring tone on my SD card to use for calls?

Can you see it? Can you play it? Is it the right format?

Most stock ringtones on devices are .ogg format Roger. I use MediaConverter from the playstore to convert my tunes to ringtone format then I drop them into my ringtone folder on my internal drive

    Asus Nexus 7

They are Windows media files. I use some old BlackBerry tones for notifications. Just can't get a phone ring tone to stick. I can select it, but it doesn't save. Worked just fine on my Note II. Guess I'll try to convert to the ogg format.

What I usually do Rog is drag and drop ringtones from the PC into the ringtones folder in the root folder of Android. If it's .mp3 it's good to go, if not just change the ringtone format to .mp3 on the PC and then drag and drop.
The ringtone will then appear in your Sounds setup on the Note 3. No apps are necessary.

Yeah I'll probably have to do just that. It's actually what I did to get them onto the card in the first place. Like I said though, this all worked fine on the Note II. Just don't get why I can navigate to the folder on my SD card and not be able to use the selected tone.

Roger it is Antvplayer, Del I used to do the same thing on the S2 but had issues with the S4 just dragging and dropping that led me to the app I use to change from MP3

    Asus Nexus 7
    Nook Color
