    Smile Problems with BB Connect

I have recently gone from a BB 7100g to the new Nokia 9300. I am issues with installing the BB connect to activate my phone on the enterprise server at work. When I try to open the Blackberry Configuration for Nokia I get the following error: " Loading C:\Program Files\BlackBerry Configuration for Nokia\BBServer.dll failed. GetLastError returned: The specified module could not be found.
Ensure that you have installed all of the software required to properly communicate with your handheld.

Does anybody have any ideas? I have already tried calling Cingular and Nokia and nobody has a clue.

Where is the nokia from? If its from the us it won't work you will have to send it out to have a 5.0 firmware installed cause it will not work with anything older I know germany and egypt and the uk have the version u need.

I bought it from the Cingular store so I am assuming that it is a US product.

Then as stated above you will need to have it flashed to have the firm ware upgraded to 5.0+ if you search google for how to install blackberry connect on a nokia communicator there are a few forums with the complete walk thrus on how to get your device upfraded to that flash version unfort unless you want to pay a few hundred to buy the machine yourself your going to be shipping it out to someone. It is the ONLY way to make it work.

    Re: Problems with BB Connect

I finally got it fixed. It took going to the Nokia Business Site and downloading the newest version of the Blackberry Connect Software for Nokia. Of course Nokia didn't know to do this but RIM did.

    Thanks everyone.

    Re: Problems with BB Connect

    See: marchansen.com/tn116/

    The helpful "BBServer.dll failed" error:

The person who developed BBC apparently does not comprehend
error handling and their QA department apparently does not run test
cases with Outlook problems. If the there is any problem communicating
with Outlook you get this message:

    "Loading C:\Program Files\BlackBerry Connect for Palm\BBServer.dll
failed. GetLastError returned: The operating system cannot run %1.
Ensure that you have installed all of the software required to properly
    communicate with your handheld."

I am sure that there are numerous reasons that Outlook can fail to
communicate with BBC, but the one that I found was caused by a problem
with C:\WINDOWS\system32\MAPI32.DLL. Lots of programs change this dll
for various reasons, in my case it was Eudora. The solution:

If Eudora is set to be the MAPI server it replaces MAPI32.DLL with its
own and (this is the important part) makes it read only so Outlook can't
fix it even when outlook is set to be the default email application.
There are two ways to fix this:

    1. In Eudora Options>MAPI> Set "Use Eudora MAPI server" to "Never" then
    Eudora will fix it; or

    2. Delete (or rename) MAPI32.DLL and run WINDOWS\system32\fixmapi.exe
