Del, I'm running a ROM that has all the features of the stock OS, minus all the crap that AT&T pushes. Plus a lot of really nice features. So what's not to like?

Nexus would be around 60% now.

Hey Glenn, you better chase Jay here. He's the one that just liked the Calendar app...
Moi? Peace bro. Everything is nice. I like! I haven't got any carrier bloatware neither.

I like the AOKP ROMs, but all the themes look the same. But I do like the ROM controls.

So my thoughts on the S3.

Mmmmm. Sexy. OK maybe not sexy but a nice stylish piece of hardware. The screen may be pentile but I have no issues with it. Its bright, except when outside. I can live with this although I had the same issues with the Nexus. I like the blue finish even though I prefer black.

I am not a fan of the home button although I guess I'm getting used to it. Also not so thrilled with the menu and back buttons being reversed. Again, I'll adapt.

I looked through Touchwiz and found it to be bloated and quite annoying. Why it wastes real estate on this wonderful screen is beyond me. Huge Widgets, big grid to place them on and a crap notification screen put me off right away. I liked some of the apps but none were enough to keep me from flashing vanilla 4.2.1 within hours of getting it. It was rooted quickly.

I find it speedy, responsive and believe it or not, efficient with its battery on stock 4.2. Now I'm comparing it to the Nexus which was notorious for horrible life even with the extended battery.Same size battery in both but I come home with 65% compared to 45-50%. I can live with that. Its now 12 hours after I unplugged it and I'm at 31% with 2 and a half screen on time and 2 hours of playing music while out splitting wood today.

Overall I'm pleased. With a 32gb class 10 card on the way I will have the only kink in my system worked out.

Worth the wait, and will do until the 4 comes out. If you own one you owe it to yourself to try CM 10 or AKOP at some point. This is how a nmNexus device should feel.

    Anyway, there you go.

Ugh. Using a class 4 now. Transferring ROMs to it is painful.

    Couple of days...

Pay attention to Slickdeals, they had 32GB's Class10 cards for cheap a little while ago.
