Ogo at it again. This time back by Texas Instruments and Intel

NETANYA, Israel — A messaging device developed by IXI Mobile Inc. aimed at young people is set to rival the BlackBerry handheld email device in popularity, driven by a slightly different business model, the company claimed. IXI Mobile (Redwood City, Calif.), whose investors include Texas Instruments and Intel and which has connections with Romania, is rolling out its "Ogo" device in the U.S., Germany, Switzerland, Uruguay, Ghana and Turkey, while planning an IPO of shares on NASDAQ in the first half of 2007. -- More

Hey, this device could really catch on! I'm a massive text user myself last month I used about 7,000 text messages. Nice looking device. Maybe a challenge for the Sidekick but not the BB, just my opinion.

IMO it will not be any competition especially when the 8800 comes out

Ha! The Ogo. I bought one for my hubby a few years ago while I was with AT&T. He quickly asked me to return it after finding out how limited it was. I paid $100 bucks and NEVER got my money back after I returned the darn thing. AT&T acted like they didn't even know about the device. I kept getting, "You should get a refund in 2-4 weeks, if not call back". I must have called them 4 times. I never did get my money back.
