I've installed speed booster but can't see much a result...what makes a phone slow anyway ? I've got a duel core with a gig of ram....how can a few running applications and a cloged up home screen possibly affect the speed of my device anyways ? That is all I can think of that's making my device run less smoothlg....what do you think and recomend...It's not painfully slow but still.

Memory managers are outdated and not that useful for gingerbread or ics.

Android os is pretty good at managing your memory, but users tend to work against it.

Every widget on the homescreen, the launcher, etc require space in that 1gb of ram. So do apps when you open them. Users also have a habit of hitting the home button instead of back to close apps. When you choose home it just gets pushed into the background, still claiming the memory it had.

Android will start to close those apps at a point. Same thing memory managers do. If you want to see what is running go to settings/application/ choose "running" tab at the top.

Just be smart. If you have an email icon on your home page, do you need the widget? Do you need a battery widget when the is shows you it at the top? Messages come through notifications, do you really need a widget?

Live wallpaper....waste of memory (its an app ) and battery.

BTW, Android has a built in app manager. Long press home...

Smoother is not (and some will argue) Senses strong point. All that pretty comes at a price. Sense hogs memory with needless cosmetic enhancements. (LOL).

    I didn't do anything. ©

You aren't rooted. You really can't do anything that will do permanent damage. Just uninstall anything that goes south.
You're learning, as I am. Takes time.
