    Goodbye Sammy

Upgrade came due and I decided to take Amazon up on the $16 upgrade to the LG G2. Have it by Tuesday, thoughts to follow.

Think Knox pushed me over the edge.

    32. Non removable battery as well.
Cassie and her One seem happy. I need a change and if I'm wrong about my perceived importance for SD/battery then I'll admit it.

All I can say: 1) Yikes!! 2) Try and enjoy it.
LG is trying hard, but except for the great screen they have, I don't see anything that's better than a S4. And that includes the LG UI overlay.
Good luck with it, but I'm still sure you were itching for change, that's all.
I'm with you Cat. Jay, get an iPhone.

    No iPhone, for various reasons.
My S4 has been wearing my patience thin. Honestly want to remain as stock as possible but TW has become an annoyance. My particular S4 refuses to connect to LTE when Cassie's One is connecting easily. I could replace it through warranty but I have the upgrade.

I'm tired (so tired) of the phone race. I'm not waiting for the S5. My guess is it will be minor in terms of design with an unnecessary screen resolution increase and more TW bloat. Features I don't need or want. Maybe I'm just tired of Sammy...

The battery/SD issue I've thought about at length. Currently I've been good with 32gb and I haven't needed to pull battery for months.

I plan on being brutal on my thoughts with the LG. I'll have it for a little over a year. Development is active for it so I can go to AOSP if I choose to.

I've ordered my $5 glass screen protector from the same place I got my S4s, and a slim case. Will see how the phone does on Tuesday when it arrives.

Honestly I'm not betting on LG. Actually, part of the reason I'm getting it is because they're not as popular. I think Moto has increasing interest, who knows.

If the new Samsung has a non removable battery and no card slot I may look elsewhere. HTC used to be one of the front runners. Have they dropped off the scene?

I interested in the new nexus phone. As far as I can tell, its pretty much the same phone as the g2.

    i await your thoughts.

If your review is good, I'll prolly scoop the nexus up. They say build quality is horrible, but I only plan on keeping the phone till the iPhone 6. Comes out.

I played with the G2 the other day at the store, and that screen had me smitten.

Keep in mind the Nexus has issues with the speaker and a slightly smaller screen. Otherwise a great phone. If a 32gb version had been available....
Looked hard at it but passed.

That is really the only outstanding quality the LG has. Regarding the Nexus 5, which I had for a few days, I was disappointed. The crappy camera was a big issue although new software is now available to correct it. I haven't tried it yet.

LG made the Nexus 5 the poorer smartphone when compared to the LG2. I wonder if this wasn't done on purpose and due to the low selling price Google imposed. Whatever the reason, LG themselves are totally to blame. I believe the new Nexus 5 (the 2nd batch) are a great improvement, especially having corrected the tacky and jittery buttons and some finishes, like joints etc.

The rest of the stuff, hardware, specs and software is the same. I do prefer vailla droid (KitKat 4.4). I can't get to like the LG UI. If TW on the Sammy is tacky for my tastes, the LG 2 is gross! But that's me.
