Well, 24hrs and there is good and bad.

Overall, not a bad device. Windows does take a little getting used to, and has froze a couple of times, but no resets needed.

Also haven't had the time to go in and do the "tweaks" and "hacks" yet, so that could eventually make a difference also.

However, there is no way that I could give up the 8700 for a Treo as a main phone.

Expect to see a Smart Phone Show Down thread within a few days.

Re: Crossing to the dark side...Kinda...

The 3G at this point isn't really impressing me, but I am not completely sure that I have my settings set perfectly (didn't have time at work today to really get into it and see how to tweak it a little.

At times its running great with quick loads, and other times its slower than gprs (which is sad).

Sometimes it doesn't load at all!

But earlier today I was able to connect thru real player and get ny1 streaming audio running with no problems what so ever.

The keypad on the treo definately takes some getting used to, as for me, its nowhere near as easy to use an 8700 keyboard is. Keys are kinda in wierd positions and cramped. Plus I keep hitting spacebar 2x to try and put in the periods and it doesn't work and I have to remember it doesn't auto cap the first words in new sentences (but I think I heard there is a patch for that).

I am having one of the same issues as N8. My SK2 does not insert periods using the spacebar either. I will list more pros/cons in a later post.

Here are additional pros/cons of the SK2. I activated the Data yesterday (24 hours ago).

    Pros:

AIM and Yahoo Messengers and smileys in text messages.
Limit on how many texts I can get (130 vs 3000+ which can sometimes cause BB's hourglass to spin).
WAP pages work but are sometimes still slow.
Relay applications which I will need in my profession.
The SK3 will have a stand alone MSN Messenger.
Activation/setup takes less than 10 minutes.
QWERTY keypad (The Pearl's keypad can hurt after extended or first time use).
Auto capitalization of words in sentences.

    Cons:

The spacebar shortcut doesn't work to insert a period at the end of a sentence.
Wants to scroll down when I want it to scroll up on a wap page.
Web pages take forever to load or don't load at all.
WAP pages also take a few minutes to load.
    Slow GSM device.
No Google Talk Messenger or ICQ (Although ICQ is on the SK3).
No BlackBerry Messenger (I would like to see an SK with BlackBerry Connect and/or Messenger LOL)
No EDGE connection (I will get the SK3 for this).
No spacebar shortcut to insert periods.
State abbreviations, such as TX, are not automatically capitalized.
