Backup Apps on SD Card with Astro File Manager

I've had Astro File Manager installed on my phone for a few weeks now and was not even aware that you could backup your apps to your sd card with it. I found the instructions on another forum and it worked like a charm. Here's the link:

The only bad thing about this is if you switch devices or wipe your device. Yes you can reinstall all your apps, but the Market does not recognize that you have them so you won't get notified of updates until you re-download the apps from the market.

At least you can get them all back at once then re-download at your leisure.

hmm good point. with a crap load of apps installed it would be hard for me to keep up with which ones i had already d'loaded from the market and which ones i still needed to. also it would be nice if you could set it up to automatically do backups.

I have over 130 apps in my last backup, getting them all again from the market would take a while! Hopefully I won't need to do it any time soon!

Scheduling automatic backups would be nice....
