So is rooting like jailbreaking in that if I were to install KitKat I'd lose my root? How does this work? Just saw notification that KitKat is now available for my device. What should I do?

You update and your root goes bye bye. And all the bloat comes back. You should look for Kit Kat update on xda or Jay may help you out.
    Or I'm talking gibberish...

If you're already rooted with a custom recovery the update won't work. It will download then fail if you try and flash.

If you have a custom recovery and rooted then just wait for the zip to be posted then flash it. You won't lose anything (it will most likely be pre-rooted if from XDA) and its easy peasy.

Now if you are rooted with stock recovery/ROM and are using SuperSu then you can try and take it. First though you need to open SuperSu and choose the option to "survive ota". Doesn't always work. No harm other than needing to reroot or update failing.

If you don't have Knox already (which I'm betting you do) I wouldn't take it. If you don't take it you'll be nagged about it until you edit your build.prop to say you have that version already. Not hard but I'd have to show you later...heading out to work til 8.

Double post, sorry? Geez, you should be sorry about the other posts! By this time Rog has retired to a mental institution... And I'm gonna visit him and be committed as well.

That means you're good to go Rog. Just find a kit kat ROM for your device on xda, download it, reboot into Clockmod recovery, always make a backup 1st, factory data reset, wipe cache, then install your KK ROM.

Oi. Fine. Rdills just took us out of the emergency ward. But we're still both committed.

    Yeah, that's what I said
You can just download to your phones SD card if you want to skip the computer.

    Backup first. Clockwork/backup/etc etc

When I go into SuperSU, it's asking me if I want to disable Knox. Is that possible?
