Go to Recovery by powering down the device and back on while simultaneously holding the Power and Volume Up buttons (release the buttons when you see "Recovery Booting" on your device).

I hold the buttons and it goes black. It never says "Recovery booting". when I release them it goes back to the same screen.

Open su. It may say something about binary needing update. Do that then reboot. Then open goo and install the recovery again.

Sounds like the recovery didn't install.

    Always something...

EDIT: Problem solved by scott14719. Here it is: As soon as you feel the phone vibrate, immediately let go of the power button but continue to hold the other buttons until the recovery boots, then let go of them.

Phone goes into download mode ok?

Cat, apparently there's an issue with Verizon and their Nazi ways.

Let's get back to the is first. Tomorrow I'll tackle the recovery if possible. Seems they take offense to such things.

Not a brick. Just needs to have os back. Verizon sucks.

Its there, its all there. Just need to boot to is instead of download.

Just to be clear, it boots to download even if you don't hold anything?

If it boots to is without holding any buttons then we'll bookmark it and get back tomorrow. If nor I'm going to keep going.

It should boot to is just as it always did, nothing has changed.
