    Question Ringer tune cuts off

I have a BB Pearl and used Limewire to download a song, then FlexMusic Wave Editor to select the part of the song I wanted to use as a ringer, then finally I transferred it to my Pearl via Desktop Manager. When I played the song everything worked fine, but when I get a call the song cuts off at around twenty seconds. I made the clip about 50 seconds long specifically so that the whole clip would play... any suggestions as to how I can get the whole clip to play when I receive a call?
    Thanks in advance!

I don't think your phone even rings for a full 50 seconds. I think after 20-30 seconds is when it goes to voicemail, after which, it will quit ringing (since you've missed the call, so why keep ringing?)

Is the ringtone cutting off, and repeating? Or just cutting off when the ringing stops?

    peace,

I just tested it out.. My Pearl, through Tmobile, rings for about 20 seconds before cutting to voicemail. No ringtone could play beyond that time, because after that time, the phone is no longer ringing.

    Hope this helps!

    Re: Ringer tune cuts off

Well I won't have voice mail until next month... so for now it rings for about a minute, give or take a few seconds, and then it goes to a message saying that the user is not available and to try later. Anyways, the ringer cuts off at about 20 seconds and then starts again, cuts off after an additional 20 seconds and start, and so on...

Try going to Profiles/Advanced and edit the active Profile Phone notification. Set the number of vibrations to one.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the suggestion Rcbjr! I tried that and it increased the duration to almost 40 seconds before cutting off and restarting

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~if you need more time than that you can turn the vibration off altogether and just set it to tone.

    Re: Ringer tune cuts off

The max ringtime for a tune is about 10-15 seconds at number of 3 beep/vibes. When you switch that to 2, then the ringer lasts a little longer because it only repeats 2 times. So at setting 1 it will not have to repeat and will play the entire tune.

    Thanks Rcb.
