I'm gonna say try to follow the instructions in the first post exactly. Start the MDS simulator before you start the Handheld simulator. You do have to have an internet connection active on your PC when using it. Let us know how it works. Rcbjr. |

I got everything else on point here, was even able to restore the Simulated Version with my very own Back-up, but stuck at how to get the browser Icon. Hey Rc, would you happen to have a screenshot of the Mds Simulator? ANd you say an open connection as like a internet connection to my computer right? I also downloaded BlackBerry MDS Services for BlackBerry Enterprise Server v4.0 and got halfway thru the installation when it asks for hosts name and port, I hit next and it goes into a username and password, and that I don't have so I have to cancel installation everytime. I then downloaded Mds runtime, and didnt even know what to do with that period! Thnkas tho for responding

louee6, I can't help you with this. I've never tried this as I have a data plan and don't need to use it. Any help or suggestions are just going by what I have read in other posts and forums about it. Sorry. Rcbjr. |

| Re: Ring Tones and Pictures without a Data Plan
ok result, i tried it after a restart without plugging my bb in first and it worked a charm ![]() louee, the mds is part of the JDE, goto research in motion in your start menu and its there , i didnt use the backup from the original bb on the simulated one because when i did the browser vanished, so i just used the sim blackberry to browse to the websites, downloaded the songs i wanted, selective backup again, then plugged my bb in to usb and restored that backup and things worked a treat, if i have time tomorrow or monday i'll do a step by step guide with pics for everyone to see if that helps |

Hey Aragami. It was easy to load the Back-up to the simulated version. All I did was ran the Simulator fiest then opened up the desktop manager and it picked it up, but make sure in the simulator you have checked simulated usb connection. I restarted the Simulator and now I have the Browser Icon but still cannot access the net. I have a internet connection and all. Should under advance settings be set to something percific. Also the only thing I see to open up under RIM in the JDE file is JDWP, nothing there stating MDS. Mann when I say as soon as you can get that tutorial donein pic, I can be a happy camper. Thanks for taking the time out to help me Aragami. Hit me up as soon as you get this tutorial posted Please!
