Now knowing the backup files can be edited manually reasonably easily it should be possible for someone to build an app that connects to the phone, pulls down the content store via DM then gives you an explorer style window to add and remove files then when your done saves it back to the phone. Just its a bit beyone me at the moment. Anyone willing to try?

i had thought u editing it , but again you see to use this back we gotta use simulator ,so lotz of api's and active x is required , its a big project, or kind of easy 1,

Hi there, so I was trying this great method to dowload and upload ringtones and pictures and it really works!!! Fantastic !!!
But now I like to know what happend with the games and themes, where I can fint it to backup and restore from the simulated BB 8700g, I download the Ka-Glom (kind of Tetris) but I can't restore to the real BB and I'm not trying yet to download themes, does it work to this stuff to?

they all get stored within one big file, cant remember exactly what its called but itl be about 20meg+ and have fs near the end of the name or as the file extension. But theres no way into it to retreive the applications unfortunately.

But if the App is availabe of DM app loader installation, you don't need this procedure.

To RCBJR, I don't understand what are you tell me (DM app loader installation), I download the game directly from mobile.blackberry.com to the simulated BB but I can't copy it to the real BB.

Ok, you're downloading the OTA version. Try to find the normal version, download the ALX/COD files and use the Desktop manager Application loader to install direct to your BB. No need to use the simulator in this case.

Hey I am a nubbie to all of this, I was just wondering what websites I can get mp3s from and how on earth I go about saving them to the blackberry? I have done the simulator stuff, but I don't know what websites to surf to, and even if I do go to websites, how do i save the files.

where do you get the prograsm needed and will this mess up your blackberry at all?
