Your BB is in content protection mode, This places the .rem file extension on the picture file. Options>Security Options>General settings>content protection. Anyone have more to add to this? Do you inout a password everytime you unlock your phone?

I do input a password to unlock my phone.
Seen as I have the contents protected how do I remove the protection on files I want to take of my bb. I hope I don't have to use DM 4.3 or 4.5 as I cannt use them on my pc as you need an internet connection to get those DM to work hence I'm still using DM 4.2

Do you have a Media Card with encryption on? In my experience, my .rem files are created when using Encryption Mode.

I am not certain that it can be removed, to be honest. I did a little exploring of my own files and found a few photos that I accidentally encrypted. I'll play around with them and see if I can find a way of removing the encryption and report back.
