    Pearl MP3

I was disappointed to find out that the Pearl does not have music in stereo, only mono. Is there a driver i can download to make the music I listen to in stereo, or is this a hardware thing?

    martinez9962, Welcome to PinStack.

Are you using a stereo Head Set? Or do you mean from the speaker?

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.

No problems with the sound, have a few mp3's which are really only there for ringtones and a back up for when i don't have my ipod. The sound is much crisper now that i've made holes in the back cover.

Only thing you have to worry about with is the 2.5mm jack has a unique pin configuration, if you use an adapter, it most likely will only give you mono ouput. I had a treo 650 with a similar jack and while the Radio Shack adapter worked, it doesn't work on the pearl.

I have gotten used to the bundled ear phones that came with the pearl - they are horrible, and will probably look for something to replace them soon.

I know that a lot of people have been talking about bluetooth stereo headsets, well, Logitech has a stereo headset with a dongle that can be used to connect to the jack - don't bother with using bluetooth on the pearl - RIM didn't complete the job and left out the necessary bluetooth profile.

For more stereo effects some people have even gone to the extent of drilling holes in the battery cover just over where the speaker of pearl is located (next to the camera) - but to me stereo if good and ok.

Check for the bitrate of the song you're installing. and also check the pin of your headset. if there are two rings on the pin then its stereo and if there is one ring then its mono. you should have stereo headset for stereo quality. and also if the bitrate of the mp3 you're trying to put on phone os less then 128 then it wouldnt be good.

You could just buy the stereo adapter from Seidio.

    Re: Pearl MP3

I am using the one by Shure, it's very very good.
By the way, I paired up Sony Ericsson HBH-ds970 (Bluetooth stereo headset) with my BB8100, it works fine on the handfree functions, but got no sound from music media, can someone tell me why ?

    Thanks
