    Media Manager freezes

    Hello all,

new to the site and I'm hoping someone can help me with my media manager.

I own a Curve 8300,running the latest OS downloaded from RIM. My problem is that media manager is s-l-o-w. It freezes/hangs for what seems like 5-10 mins. I find it very frustrating trying to use this app. has anyone here experienced drag while running this thing? I have uninstalled DM several times but the same thin happens.

    Please help!!!

I had problems with that stupid Media Manager too. Its useless and I wouldn't use it. When you plug your device into your computer, if you have hte mass storage flag set for your external card, then it should appear as a local drive where you can just copy or remove items from, just like a flash drive.

I'm glad to know its not just me. The only thing I really wanted it for was to create a music playlist. Like yourself, I simply drag and drop my files onto the sd card. Any idea on how to create a playlist without going through DM?

Then if you are having issues with it and even with uninstall/reinstall are still experiencing issues you may want to consider downgrading to 4.2 version.

    Thanx Lavagirl,

I'll give it a try... do I need to do a clean un-install prior to downgrading to 4.2?

I'm a new Curve owner and have also been frustrated by Media Manager. I have just enable disk access and will try that. However, I just discovered you can create a folder with MM, and copy tunes into it, and you have a playlist. I also did this for some of my podcasts, and it's better than my iPod. The iPod will not play a series of podcasts - it stops after the first one. But my curve does what I want. Pretty cool.
