Smile Installing MP3 files as ringtones

Trying to install a MP3 from my PC as a new ringtone on my 8700c but I can't install it. I can create the ringtone with Audicity and send it to my mail account on the BB, but from that point I can't import it as a ringtone. What am I missing here?

    Thanks in advance...

    WadeFallin, Welcome to PinStack.

You can't do it from an attachement on your BB. You can post it on a website that hosts user created ringtones or if using Gmail, use the BB Internet Browser to Access your gMail account and downloaded it that way. The 8700 requires the use of the Internet Browser to download and save ringtones.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.

To save the ringtones from GMAIL u will need to change ur browser setting to Microsoft IE emulation mode.

Open Browser - Options - Browser config - Emulation mode

Hello WadeFallin, welcome aboard. You have many options to gettings that ringer to your BB.

You could send it to me and I could put it on www.mobile41.com.

You could go to www.box.net and upload it yourself, then download it to your BB.

You could go to www.coolservice.dk/en/compatibilities.php and send it to yourself.

You could do gmail as mentioned above.

Many options, let us know how it goes.

Here is a cool ring tone that is in mp3 format.

is it possible for me to download it to my 7520?

This page would not let me attach it for some reason.

Thanks Mr H. My problem with the cell number method is that the cell phone is disabled. Gonna have to go the web site method. Again thanks for the reply.

Re: Installing MP3 files as ringtones

Thanks to all for all these options. I found CoolService late yesterday and was able to submit the MP3 I created and get it on my BB that way. A very nice ringtone for my profession. I am the Helpdesk Supervisor to a IT Helpdesk and as such, I get messages all the time about how urgent a user's problem needs to be resolved. So I created a nice 30 sec clip of Foreigner's hit song Urgent that I now use when I get a message.

Again, thanks to everyone that has replied.

    Wade
